Assalamualaikum, today I will share a dua with you that will relieve you in times of distress. It’s a short and simple dua which you can memorize in just a few minutes. It was sufficient for Prophet Yunus may peace be upon him when he was trapped in the darkness alone in the belly of a whale. In the Quran it says that because he recited this Dua he was relieved of this burden. Prophet Yunus Dua In Arabic لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ Transliteration la ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaz-zaliminEnglish Meaning There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the ayat commonly referred to as Ayat E Kareema or just Ayat Karima is mentioned in Surah Anbiya Verse 87. The full ayah goes as follows “And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, “There is no deity except You; exalted, are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.” it continues on, “So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers.” If you’re familiar with the story of Prophet Yunus you’ll know that Prophet Yunus gave up on his people. Without the permission of Allah, he decided to leave the city of Nineveh in hopes to find a city that would more readily accept him and the message of Islam. This is why the Quran mentions “the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him”. As punishment he was kicked off and abandoned by his ship members, swallowed by a whale, and left in darkness. At this moment he cried out remembering Allah, praising Allah, admitting his faults in the matter by saying “Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.” Allah seeing the genuine and sincere apology had then relieve him. Significance of La Ilaha Illa Anta Subhanaka This short dua also encompasses the concept of tawheed, one of the most basic tenets of Islam. By saying this dua, you are consciously and deliberately declaring that Allah swt is the only deity, the exalted. You then show your humility by admitting your faults and weakness. I forget who had said this, I believe it was Hazrat Ali, but the message is still valid, the worst sin is that which a sinner takes lightly. We should be constantly repenting to Allah swt at any moment we are free. We are all guilty of not making the best use of our time, some are better than others but we can all improve. We should all strive to have as little idle time as possible. This is why we should mix this heavy ayah into our diverse toolbox of duas and azkar. The best form of dhikr is to recite Quran with an understanding of its meanings.

Sesudah salam kita tetap duduk lalu melafadhkan dzikir di bawah ini hal'azhim [3x] la Illaha Illa huwal hayul qayyu mu wa atubu ilayihi min jamil maashi wadz-dzunub la hawla wa la quwwata Illa billahil 'aliyyil 'azhim. ilaha Illahu wahdahu la syarikallah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu yuhyi wa yumitu wa huwa 'ala kulli syai'ing qadir 10x minan nar 7x antas salam, wa mingkas salam, wa ilaika ya'udus salam, fahayyina rabbana bis salam , wa adkhilnal jannata daras salam, tabarakta rabbana wa ta'alaita ya dzal jalali wal'ikram. la mani'alima athaita wa la muthiya lima mana'ta wa la yanfa'u dzal jaddi mingkal jaddu. fatihah ikhlas falak nas bakarah 5 ayat Alif laam miim dzalikal kitabulla raibafihidullil mutaqin…..dst ilahukum ilahuw wahid la ilaha illa huwar rahmanur rahim. Kursi Allahu laila haillahu wal qoyyul qoyyuum……dst Rasulu bima unzila ilaihi mir rabbihi wal mu’minuna, kullun amana billahi wa malal’ikatihi wa kutubihi wa Rasulihi, la nufarriqu baina ahadim mir rusulihi, wa qalu sami’na wa atha’na gufranakka rabbana wa ilaikal mashir. La yukallifullahu nafsan illawus’aha, laha ma kasabat wa’alayha maktasabat, rabbana la tu’akhidzna innasina aw akhtha’na. Rabbana wala tahmil alaina ishran kama hamaltahu alal ladzina ming qablina rabbana wa la tuhamilmilna ma la thaqata lana bih. Wa ’fu’anna, wagh fir lana, war hamna, antamawlana fanshurna ’alal qawmil kafirin. annahu la ilaha illa huwa wal mala’ikatu wa’ulul ’ilmi qa’imam bilqisthi la ilaha illa huwal azizul hakim. dina ’indallahil islam. malikal mulki tu’til mulka man tsya’u wa tanzi’ul mulka mim mam tsya’u, wa tu’izzu man tasya’u, wa tudzillu mamn tasya’u biyadikal khair, innaka ’ala kulli syai’ing qadir. fin nahari wa tulijun nahara fil laili wa tukhrijul hayya minal mayyati wa tukhrijul mayyita minal hayyi, wa tarzuqu man tasya’u bighayri hisab. ya rabbi anta maulana Subhanallah 33x ’aliyyil azhimi wa bihamdihi da’iman abada Al Hamdulilllah 33x Hamdu lilahirabbil ’alamin ’ala kulli halin wa fi kulli halin wa ni’matin Allahu Akbar 33x akbar kabira wal hamdulillahi katsira wa subhanallahi bukrataw wa’ashila. ilaha illahu wahdahu lasyarikalah lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu yuhyi wa yumitu wa huwa’ala kulli syai’ing qadir wa ilaihil mashir, wa la hawla wa lal quwwata ila billahil aliyyil ’azhim. ’azhim 3x zikri fa’lam annahu, la ilaha illallah 3x rasulullah shallallahu ’alaihi wa sallam kalimatu haq, La ilaha illallah 100x.
